2023 Republican Voter Guide - November 7 th General Election

(Paid for by the Holmes County Republican Party - Not Authorized by Any Candidate or Committee

STATE ISSUE #1 - "RIGHT TO REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM" PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT - PROPOSED BY INITIATIVE PETITION

The Republican Party recommends VOTE NO. This amendment severely limits the rights of parents to be involved in decisions about abortion by their children who are under 18, and enshrines in our state constitution a nearly unrestricted "right" to kill children by abortion!

STATE ISSUE #2 - AN ACT TO CONTROL AND REGULATE ADULT USE OF CANNABIS - PROPOSED LAW - PROPOSED BY INITIATIVE PETITION

The Republican Party recommends VOTE NO. This act would become a state law if passed and would legalize marijuana in our state. At a time when we are urging our children to stay away from harmful, addictive drugs, this act proposed to make it legal! Marijuana is a "gateway" drug, meaning it often leads users to advance to even more dangerous drugs such as cocaine, heroin, meth, etc.

With regard to State Issue #2, which proposes to legalize marijuana for all purposes (medical, recreational, etc.) it is madness that on the one hand, we send people to our schools to urge our children to "Just Say No" to drugs, while on the other hand we are holding a vote to legalize marijuana!

I teach a weekly Bible study at the Mansfield prison and the inmates who are there for a drug offense tell me that marijuana was their "gateway drug" - it was the first rung of the ladder which led them on to cocaine, heroin, meth, etc. But the liberals are pushing to legalize a gateway drug which leads young people to much worse!
